At UPP, we understand just how important this is and that's why at each of the universities we partner with we have a dedicated onsite team offering a range of facilities management services designed to support the safety of the building and ensure students enjoy a high quality of life throughout their stay.

We currently have a great opportunity for a Facilities Management Assistant to join our Headingley team in Leeds.

This is a permanent, part
- time position working 12 hours per week, working Sunday 7am to 7pm.

Alternatively, there may be flexibility to split the hours over the weekend period. The salary is £ per annum.


The Facilities Management Assistant supports the team in providing an excellent customer service and a secure environment for residents to live and to study.

You will be responsible for looking after the Reception Desk and operating a computerised system that monitors maintenance works.


Role responsibilities include:

  • Provide an excellent and comprehensive reception service to the students and office team; keeping records of all visitors, contractors and issue keys when required
  • Assist managers in the coordination of all onsite activities and day to day administration
  • Carry out regular walks around the residence and grounds, reporting any security/safety issues
  • Supervise and monitor out of hours access to the residence, ensuring compliance with fire, health and safety procedures and any other relevant residence instructions
  • Complete all necessary reports, e.g. incident, noise, accident
  • Undertake training as required, and act as the appointed First Aider
  • Liaise with other UPP staff, university clients, subcontractors and conference delegates
  • Keep a close eye on the conduct of students, encouraging reasonable and fair behaviour and liaise confidentially when required with student support services and other teams/agencies to support student welfare.
We are looking for to already have some Reception and Helpdesk experience gained within a similar environment.

You will have great communication, organisation and administrative skills, along with attention to detail and the passion to do a great job.


Alongside this you will have a friendly and professional approach with the ability to multi-task and deliver work within agreed timescales.


You will also be flexible to work (with notice) additional hours when the needed, especially during the main student arrival and departure weekends each year.
