Employment Status:
Fixed Term Contract - 6 Months

Working Hours - 40 hours per week. Worked Monday to Friday with half an hour unpaid break. Remote cover required Saturday am and Sunday am on alternate weeks and receive the following Friday off.


The Production Planner will be responsible for developing and maintaining production schedules, optimising finished goods inventory levels, and coordinating with various teams to ensure timely delivery of products to customers.

You will be responsible for the planning activities of the department to ensure stock levels & customer demands are met in a timely and cost-effective manner.

This role will require strong analytical skills, the ability to prioritise tasks, and effective communication with all stakeholders. You will work closely with the production teams to ensure all data is accurately entered and sent out.


Key Responsibilities:


  • To plan the production of finished goods to fulfil orders and stock requirements.
  • Translate the long term demand plan into a daily / weekly / monthly production schedule in line with standard operating efficiencies and agreed stock holdings.
  • Advise production of labour requirements to achieve the production plan.
  • Liaise with the material planner to ensure sufficient raw materials / packaging are in place to fulfil the production plan.
  • Update and report on business performance.
  • Work with the Warehouse Team to review finished goods stock holding so that stock inaccuracies can be highlighted and improved ways of working can be achieved in order to effectively manage finished goods and continually improve processes.
  • Clear communication and escalation of issues in a timely manner to ensure that these are brought to resolution so that Service Level is not affected or unavoidable shortages are proactively communicated to affected customers.

To be successful you must have:

  • Experience of production planning intakes within an FMCG environment, ideally food.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (SAP or similar ERP systems would be desirable).
  • A proactive approach to tasks. Tackles problems in a timely manner and escalates where necessary to ensure these are overcome.
  • Ability to quickly learn and willing to bridge knowledge gaps where needed.
  • Excellent attention to detail, working to a consistent high standard of work.

£25,000.00-£27,989.00 per year
