Design Assistant (Mens Casualwear)
Long-established international clothing manufacturer requires a Design Assistant with 1/2 years post-graduate experience for its London office to work closely with the Head of Casualwear Design to create Menswear collections targeting multiple retailers in the UK and Europe.
Responsibilities:
- Ensuring all samples and packs are ready in time to be couriered.
- Dealing with incoming mail and parcels
- Arranging swatch packs ensuring that selections are collated and edited in accordance with the customer brief.
- Updating cribs and final sketches for the factory and the commercial team.
- Ordering fabrics, matching Pantones and chasing mills/factories to produce samples to meet deadlines.
- Updating prices crib with correct component information, ensuring accuracy for costings
- Sending out new fabric briefs to suppliers and chasing in readiness for meetings
- Countersourcing fabrics and trims to price
- Researching and identifying the latest key trends to inspire and develop new garments/ranges.
Skills and Requirements:
- A degree or qualifications relevant to design
- Previous experience of working as a Design Assistant or Junior Designer (Mens Casualwear experience preferred)
- Advanced Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop skills are essential
- Print Design experience preferred
- CLO 3D software experience preferred
- Product Development skills
- Strong technical and creative design skills
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills
- A confident, proactive approach capable of working effectively in a team under pressure in a demanding fast paced environment
We Offer an Attractive Salary + Comprehensive Benefits Package + 25 days holiday per annum in addition to bank holidays.
Salary:
£25,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
