At the end of every life, every moment counts.

At Mountbatten, we believe that every life that is limited or coming to an end should be prepared for, celebrated and treated with the utmost dignity.

To do this takes the energy, passion and dedication of a team of experts who make a difference every day, and the backing of a charity with 45 years of history and strong ambitions for the future.

This is work with purpose, work with community at the heart and work where enjoyment and fulfilment go hand in hand with care and kindness.

About the Role

In conjunction with the Senior Management Team, you will play a crucial role in helping us achieve our ambitions by setting and establishing the strategic direction for our estates and facilities across the Isle of Wight and Hampshire.

You will provide leadership to ensure the provision of a high quality, cost effective, proactive and responsive service to meet organisational requirements.

This role will also lead the development of systems and processes to ensure the quality of Estates and Facilities services to meet Care Quality Commission (CQC) and other regulatory requirements.

As the lead for Health and Safety, Risk Assessments and facilities-related standards, you will provide regular assurance to the Senior Management Team on compliance with required legislation and best practice.

About You
Our values lie at the heart of all we do, and your leadership style will reflect this.

Complemented by excellent organisational and project management skills, you will have up-to-date knowledge of health and safety, risk management, environmental matters and the ability to provide technical expertise.

You'll need to demonstrate previous experience of managing a multi-site estates and facilities team and experience of working within a hospice or healthcare setting.

You'll be a qualified engineer or hold the equivalent estates related technical qualification, as well as be qualified in either NEBOSH/ISHO standard and hold or be willing to study towards the City & Guilds accredited Certificate in Legionella Control within Hot & Cold-water Systems.

Additionally, you'll need a full clean driving licence and have the use of a vehicle for business purposes as you'll be required to travel to various locations across the Isle of Wight and Hampshire.

What we can Offer You
As well as the satisfaction of helping to improve lives and communities, you'll also enjoy a wide range of benefits including:

  • Development and Training opportunities
  • Employee Assistance Programme
  • Free Life Assurance Scheme

  • Generous Annual Leave

  • Commencing at 27 days, plus bank holidays
  • Recognition of previous Agenda for Change NHS Continuous Service for annual leave, maternity and sickness benefits
  • Local Benefit Scheme including discounts with all ferry operators
