JOB - Control Systems Engineer

LOCATION - Swansea

TERM - Permanent

SALARY - £50,000 - £60,000 per annum

My client, a Swansea based company operating in the process sector are looking for an experienced Control Systems Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis.


The Control Systems Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:

  • A degree level education or alternate qualification equivalent in Electrical or Control systems Engineering (BEng, BSc, HND, NVQ etc).
  • Ability to programme PLCs form scratch.
  • Knowledge of PLC softwares
  • Siemens, Mitsubishi, Allen Bradley, Beckhoff, TIA Portal etc.
  • Ideally programming experience for products or services in the process sector (Water Treatment, Oil & Gas, Pharmaceutical etc).
  • Preferably electrical design experience using AutoCAD/ E-Plan.
  • Strong IT & computing skills as well as good communication skills.

The Control Systems Engineer's duties will include:

  • Producing risk assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) for projects.
  • Producing & modifying PLC, HMI & SADA softwares.
  • Installation commissioning, fault finding, modification of Control Panels & equipment.
  • Supervising electrical engineers.
  • Project budget & management.
  • Ensuring the safety of site workers.
