We are currently recruiting for a multi-skilled Site Engineer join our client leading UK manufacturing operation of soft furnishings located in Ilkeston, Derbyshire.


The Site Engineer will be responsible for carrying out all site repairs and modifications and to ensure all site plant and equipment operates efficiently and safely through proactive and reactive maintenance.


Duties:


To carry out all engineering disciplines to a high standard with a right first time every time attitude whilst using the best health and safety/safe working practices.


  • To identify opportunities of improvement which will benefit the function in terms of performance, safety and efficiency.
  • Working proactively and effectively within the Site Maintenance Team to complete planned maintenance schedules and unplanned tasks.
  • Work effectively with the Production Management Team and factory operators. Establish and maintain relationships with key Suppliers or parts and equipment as appropriate.
  • Operate high standards of Health & safety within the site ensuring compliance with all environmental, health and safety legislation. Ensure H&S working conditions are always followed.
  • To ensure that all plant is maintained in accordance with the planned maintenance schedule and update the relevant documentation.
  • To Lead on projects through conducting audits and regular meetings with project teams, identifying best practice, areas for improvement and areas of concern, including matters relating to safety, finance or quality.
  • Drive and lead continuous improvement activities within the department.
  • Ensure the departments equipment and facilities are maintained and upgraded to meet required factory standards and future growth.
  • Operate high standards of Health & safety within the site ensuring compliance with all environmental, health and safety legislation. Ensure H&S working conditions are always followed.

Skills/Experience Required:


  • Qualified mechanical engineer with a good level of electrical skills and knowledge or a qualified electrical engineer with good mechanical skills and knowledge.
  • A working knowledge and proven ability to drive Continuous Improvement
  • A working knowledge of maintenance systems and manufacturing techniques
  • Proven ability to trouble shoot and problem solve
  • Needs a comprehensive understanding of all aspects of site engineering including both facilities and machinery. Project work including machine upgrades modifications, efficiency improvements, electrical and machinery installations.
