    Job Title: Mental Health Practitioner

    About the Role

    We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Practitioner to join our team at West Sussex County Council. As a key member of our Mental Health Support Team, you will play a vital role in delivering evidence-based interventions to children and young people with mild to moderate mental health problems.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provide low-intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)-informed therapeutic mental health assessments and interventions with children and young people, and/or their families.
    • Conduct initial mental health assessments, including thorough risk and safeguarding assessments.
    • Work collaboratively with professionals and adults to develop packages of care for children and young people.
    • Deliver evidence-based interventions against a CBT model, working with children, young people, their families, schools, and other mental health professionals.

    About You

    We are looking for someone who has experience of carrying out low or high-intensity CBT mental health assessments and has strong communication and interpersonal skills.

    You will need to be able to travel independently to carry out assessments and may require periodic physical demands.

    Requirements

    1. Certification in low or high-intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
    2. Experience of working with children and young people with mental health difficulties.
    3. Ability to work flexibly with a range of professionals and other adults.
    4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    Salary

    The salary for this role is £19,313 to £20,755 per annum.

    Location

    This role can be based in one of the following locations: Horsham, Chichester, and Crawley, with a Crawley Weighting Allowance of £561 per annum.
