Description

To prepare, cook and plate food to a high standard for Residents and Staff adhering to a planned menu and based on the needs of Residents;

Measure and assemble ingredients for menu items
Collaborate with the Catering Manager to prepare and plan meals
Maintain accurate food inventories
Properly store food items at appropriate temperatures
Rotate stock items as per established procedures
Restock kitchen for subsequent shifts
Ensure that the food prep area and kitchen are cleaned and sanitised at the end of your shift
Prepare and plan meals for a fixed period with the Catering Manager.
Thereafter display the variety of menus and choices therein.
Ensure meals are of a high quality, content and appetisingly presented.
Ensure a balanced diet is achieved from a variety of menus.
Ensure foodstuffs are probed for temperature readings and only served if correct temperature readings are obtained.
Only accept delivered food if it is at the correct temperature, especially frozen food.
Ensure fridge and freezer temperatures are recorded daily.
Maintain kitchen equipment as specified by respective manufacturers
Ensure cleaning regimes are in place, regularly reviewed and vigorously applied.
Ensure kitchen staff clean the kitchen after use and at the end of each shift leave the kitchen in a clean and hygienic state.
Supervise catering assistants and ensure that they understand their duties.
Facilitate inspections of the kitchen by statutory authorities who have a legitimate right to inspect the kitchen.

Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Zero hours contract

Part-time hours: 0-24 per week

Salary:
£11.50-£12.00 per hour
