About the role:
To be responsible for handling all pre-action legal claims received, including but not limited to coordinating responses to and responding to pre-action legal claims, interfacing with external legal counsel and applicable internal stakeholders in respect of pre-action and issued legal claims, and reporting to senior stakeholders and Legal Team, to ensure that Engie's legal and financial exposure is minimised.
ENGIE are recruiting for a
Senior Claims Handler based
in Leeds. This is a Permanent role, working full time Monday to Friday.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responding to all preaction legal letters received.
- Managing the handling of all preaction legal letters from receipt to resolution.
- Liaising with, and directing, internal colleagues (Sales, Finance, Customer Services, Debt Recovery) to obtain information needed in order to respond to all legal letters / claims.
- Liaise with external third parties (e.g. TPIs) as needed in respect of any claims.
- Drafting responses to preaction legal letters based on agreed internal pro formas.
- Updating precedent response letters.
- Reporting to management / Legal Team in respect of volume / progress.
- Ensure the delegations of authority are adhered to.
- Manage the full legal process with external solicitors, liaising with internal Legal Team.
Key Requirements:
- Practical experience of working in a legal practice and/or working in a claims handling environment.
- Degree or equivalent
- Solid experience working in a claims handling team
- Understanding of the legal claims process
- Ability to handle difficult customers and/or their representatives
- Proven ability to produce accurate work under tight deadlines
- Ability to work effectively with volume administration and information processing
- Microsoft Office proficient
- Organisational skills
