A great opportunity has arisen to join the Pastoral Team at Cantell School. We are looking to recruit a Safeguarding Officer for September 2023.The post holder's role is to contribute to the provision of effective safeguarding and child protection throughout the school by supporting the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL).
The Safeguarding Officer will demonstrate the highest levels of commitment and compliance to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- Working within the Safeguarding Team to promote positive safeguarding procedures and practices at Cantell School.
- Supporting students referred via safeguarding concern forms and working with the student through the school's safeguarding process and procedures.
- Produce accurate and timely reporting of safeguarding issues and support the maintenance of secure and confidential records of all safeguarding and child protection concerns.
- Ensure safeguarding cases are referred to the appropriate body, supporting staff and students through this process as required.
- Liaise with, and effectively challenge, other professionals to ensure our students get the best possible care and support.
- Ensure the safe transfer of safeguarding records and files between educational settings
- Coordinate and undertake welfare checks on students not attending school
- Track patterns of attendance to ensure all students are safeguarded effectively
