Requirements of the Speech and Language Therapist/SLT:

Degree or equivalent within Speech and Language Therapy and HCPC registration
Recent post qualifying experience working as a Speech and Language Therapist

Duties of the Speech and Lnaguage Therapist:

Provide Specialist Speech and Language Therapy assessment and management of communication disorders.
Provide advice to other staff and carers on how the communication needs can best be met.
Provide training as appropriate to staff re management of communication disorders.
Work within multidisciplinary teams.
Provide a high level of clinical expertise, which supports a person centred approach.
Deliver a safe and effective service for children on the caseload.
Contribute to service developments, which are evidencebased, innovative and targeted to those in need.
Maintain a high level of clinical expertise
Promote an intradisciplinary approach in the management of the caseload, which enhances the quality of service provisions
Contribute to the development and delivery of teaching/training programmes to colleagues, staff in school and parents/carers
