Requirements of the Speech and Language Therapist/SLT:

  • Degree or equivalent within Speech and Language Therapy and HCPC registration
  • Recent post qualifying experience working as a Speech and Language Therapist

Duties of the Speech and Lnaguage Therapist:

  • Provide Specialist Speech and Language Therapy assessment and management of communication disorders.
  • Provide advice to other staff and carers on how the communication needs can best be met.
  • Provide training as appropriate to staff re management of communication disorders.
  • Work within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Provide a high level of clinical expertise, which supports a person centred approach.
  • Deliver a safe and effective service for children on the caseload.
  • Contribute to service developments, which are evidencebased, innovative and targeted to those in need.
  • Maintain a high level of clinical expertise
  • Promote an intradisciplinary approach in the management of the caseload, which enhances the quality of service provisions
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of teaching/training programmes to colleagues, staff in school and parents/carers
