Requirements of the Speech and Language Therapist/SLT:
- Degree or equivalent within Speech and Language Therapy and HCPC registration
- Recent post qualifying experience working as a Speech and Language Therapist
Duties of the Speech and Lnaguage Therapist:
- Provide Specialist Speech and Language Therapy assessment and management of communication disorders.
- Provide advice to other staff and carers on how the communication needs can best be met.
- Provide training as appropriate to staff re management of communication disorders.
- Work within multidisciplinary teams.
- Provide a high level of clinical expertise, which supports a person centred approach.
- Deliver a safe and effective service for children on the caseload.
- Contribute to service developments, which are evidencebased, innovative and targeted to those in need.
- Maintain a high level of clinical expertise
- Promote an intradisciplinary approach in the management of the caseload, which enhances the quality of service provisions
- Contribute to the development and delivery of teaching/training programmes to colleagues, staff in school and parents/carers
