Mathiesons is a well-established bakery, manufacturing chilled desserts and ambient products for the country's leading retailers.

We make high quality, well known Scottish products and supermarket national own label chilled cakes and are looking to expand our team.


We are looking for an experienced enthusiastic person to source, attract hire and retain employees and support the safety and people function in all departments.


The role includes but is not exclusive to:

  • Assisting in the design and development of the safety and people strategy.
  • Consultingwith hiring managers to establish requirements and specific job objectives.
  • Proactively attracting talent to resource all vacancies quickly and efficiently, through preparing and posting vacancies and job descriptions, using social media.
  • Provide short lists to hiring managers and carry out interviews.
  • Ensuring all new employees are inducted, supported, and given adequate training. To act as a point of contact for new employees
  • Reviewingcurrent onboarding processes, identify gaps and improvements and continually enhance the onboarding process.
  • Coordinatingand leading the Safety and People Committee gathering information for monthly meetings, minute taking action planning, Employee engagement and sustainability programmes.
  • Coordinating the Agency management process.
  • Organising internal and external training with the relevant departments / external providers.

Requirements:


  • Proven experience in a similar role
  • Must have general Health & Safety and Environmental knowledge
  • Outstanding attention to detail and accuracy
  • Outgoing, approachable, confident with a 'can do' attitude
  • Strong decision making and problemsolving skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to interact at all levels
