A rare exciting opportunity has arisen to lead our community specialist nursing team within the Ayrshire Hospice to support individuals with a life limiting illness or palliative care needs.

The Lead Practitioner for Community Nursing will support the development and delivery of our community service in partnership with our multi-disciplinary team.

This role provides a great opportunity to utilise and further develop skills within a specialist palliative care nursing role within a friendly, professional, supportive team.

You will be responsibility for the management of the Respite and Response (Senior Healthcare Assistants) and the Specialist Palliative Care Nurses.


These teams support individuals to be cared for within a home/ homely environment to prevent unnecessary admission to hospital and reduce inequalities in access to end of life care support across Ayrshire and Arran.

The teams will compliment and work collaboratively with existing Primary Care and Health & Social Care provides across the locality improving the experience for patients and their families.

The post also has an innovative clinical component which will require Non Medical Prescribing and Advanced Nurse Practice Qualification.
