Summary


The key responsibility of the Head of Finance BPP COE is the primary owner for the implementation of offshoring activity for BPP COE, owning the plan and reporting status to sponsor and SteerCo and related to this, developing the go forward operating model for cost reporting, including restructuring costs (which are reported below the line), in line with the strategic vision.


With a strong strategic and commercial focus and mind-set, drive forward the offshore / on shore operating model for the BPP COE bringing their own, other finance teams and the business on the journey through greater collaboration, accountability and professionalism.


Critical to their success is the ability to develop a high performing cost reporting, communicate the OneFinance vision clearly, understand their audience and deliver timely information in a clear and concise manner.


It is this mix of analytical, commercial and communication skills which are at the heart of a successful cost reporting & analytics team who support and influence ExCo decision making to enable the right customer outcomes.


Key accountabilities:


The role holder will work closely at a senior level with Finance and key business stakeholders (functional heads) to ensure provision of all commercially driven cost related insight and analysis as appropriate.

They will bring consistency of reporting and analysis across Finance and the business, and provide high quality outputs in terms of content, structure, commentary and format, having successfully embedded the offshore model and new tools & technology.


Key accountabilities include:

  • E2E ownership for the design for all cost & FTE reporting, insight and analysis, forecasting
and consolidation of cost plans working with our offshore partner, key business

stakeholders, business partners, business performance, planning and investor relations etc

as required

  • Drive implementation of offshoring activity for BPP COE, owning the plan and reporting
status to sponsor and SteerCo

  • Establish effective selfserve business partnering model for abrdn's support functions
- ensuring 'productionisation' of routine analysis by facilitating incorporation of tools and

technology via WNS within PBCS/PowerBI

  • Significant and noticeable improvement in the quality, impact and timing of insight and
analysis that links financials

to business strategies to support all commercial decision making

  • Form strong relations with the offshore team, overseeing implementation and embedding
of the model and ensuring

effective operating interface between onshore and offshore teams (including offshore and

onshore performance metrics and monitoring disciplines)

  • Lead implementation and optimisation of cost model with clear service metrics covering
offshore and onshore

teams. In particular take a logical approach to the disciplined transfer of "ad hoc" activities,

taking the opportunity to challenge the value of these and enhancing those activities that

are transitioned

  • Building partnerships and maintaining strong relationships with senior leaders and teams
globally

  • Working closely with the business/functional areas to ensure the cost reporting model
going forward is firmly embedded with a clear RACI

  • Support development of ongoing snowflake technology led profitability model

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and develop MI and insight based on key commercial activity and strategic agenda
  • Financial stewardship; holding leaders accountable for performance and helping business
teams to deliver key financial targets

  • Provide timely, accurate reporting and insightful MI

  • Continuous improvement to MI, processes and procedures

Skills & capabilities required

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA), 10+ years post qualified
  • Asset management or financial services background essential
  • Managing and implementing change
  • Ability to build and lead a team capable of self operating
