About the Mental Health Nurse Position:

We are looking for a dedicated Mental Health Nurse who is capable of promoting and supporting a service user in their recovery whilst helping them build up independent and fulfilling lives.


As a Mental Health Nurse, you will need to focus on delivering the best quality care possible for the service users and also consider the best methods to help them improve their quality of life.

You will also need to work well with other members of yourteam and healthcare professionals in external organisations where required.

You will be working either with specific groups (i.e. young people) or specialist areas (i.e. learning disability)


You will be expected to have great knowledge and understanding of the healthcare sector as-well as excellent written/verbal communication skills.


Responsibilities:


  • Establishing effective relationships with the service user aswell as relatives and carers
  • Administering medication correctly
  • Liaising with other healthcare professionals (GP's, therapists, healthcare assistants, social workers etc.) in relation to the needs of the service user
  • Discussing the best way to provide care for the service user whilst talking to them about their condition
  • Maintaining service users' records, producing care plans and carrying out risk assessments

Qualifications/Requirements:


  • Must have a minimum of 2 years' experience working as a mental health nurse (preferably with children, young people and adults)
  • Must have an NVQ Level 5 (or higher) in Health & Social Care
  • Must be based in the UK + have right to work
  • Must have a valid, enhanced DBS
  • Must be registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC)
