Laundry Assistant

Responsible to :
Manager, Housekeeping Supervisor & Laundry Supervisor

Duties:

To be aware of and comply with COSHH and Healthy and Safety Regulations.
To wash, dry and iron all clothes and linen in accordance with Health and Safety Regulations and local policy.
Be aware of and wash, dry and iron all clothes and linen using appropriate cycles and equipment and in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.
Report damaged/condemned clothing to management.
Report to management clothes requiring special cleansing/repair.
Return clean clothes to residents' individual named boxes for redistribution to appropriate drawers/wardrobes.
Return clean linen to stock.
Ensure equipment is utilised and cared for in an appropriate manner.
Report faulty equipment to maintenance.
Ensure adequate supplies are available for laundering.
Submit orders for laundry products in liaison with orders for housekeeping/catering cleaning supplies.
