Our mission in Internal Audit (IA) is to provide independent, objective assurance and advisory services designed to add value to Seagate's global operations.

Reporting to the Audit Committee and executive management, we focus on the effectiveness of controls, compliance with policies, laws, and regulation and provide advice and guidance, on control aspects of processes, policies, and procedures.


About the role - you will:

The Senior Auditor is responsible for completing internal audit activities consistent with the standards established by the Institute of Internal Auditors.

This includes all phases of the audit process.

Specific job responsibilities include the following:

  • Identify business objectives, risks and evaluate key controls
  • Assist in the design and execution of operational audits to ensure adequacy and effectiveness of the internal control environment, compliance with Company policies and procedures, and identify opportunities for process improvements
  • Develop preliminary findings and realistic recommendations to improve / enhance the internal control environment
  • Work with management to develop acceptable solutions to address issues or gaps identified and followup with management to ensure remediation is implemented
  • Prepare accurate and logical workpapers clearly describing the work performed, test results and conclusions reached
  • Leverage insights and understanding of the Company in identifying risks and potential areas for audit
  • Assist in testing the effectiveness of the Company's SOX controls and work with management to ensure remediation is implemented for deficiencies identified
  • Business partnering through performance of consulting activities, interfacing with senior executives from around the globe
  • Interact with Company management and key personnel to build/maintain ongoing business relationships by utilizing strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Provide input into the identification and implementation of 'best practices'
  • Keep abreast of emerging business and IT risk issues
  • Be a role model for company values and demonstrate the highest ethical standards.
  • Travel requirement expectation of 20% (worldwide)
  • Perform other internal audit related duties as assigned

About you:

You are confident, a self-starter and possess a strong work ethic. You possess a relentless focus on quality and timeliness and will promote project ownership and responsibility for actions. You adapt to change, embrace bold ideas and are intellectually curious.

You are keen to learn and share knowledge, you like to ask questions, test assumptions, and challenge conventional thinking. You enjoy a sound business acumen, have good judgement, and can identify effective solutions to resolve issues. You can communicate in a concise, constructive, and persuasive manner.

You have a robust understanding of audit concepts and principles and are excited to play a key role in branding Internal Audit and championing internal control and corporate governance concepts throughout the business.


Your experience includes:


  • 5 years + Internal / external audit experience
  • Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience

You may also have:


  • Professional certification in audit and/or accounting

Location:

Derry/Londonderry, Northern Ireland (hybrid) - working at least 2 days per week on-site in Springtown and the remainder of the week remote working
