FCSA Lead Engagement Coordinator

Overall Purpose of the Role:

The key purpose of the role is to lead on the design, development, and delivery of effective and efficient engagement activities to ensure the FCSA achieves its strategic aims and operational commitments on Participation, Representation, and Development.


Key Responsibilities

Lead on quality assurance for all parts of the FCSA's work, ensuring adherence to our operational commitments, and alignment to our strategic aims.

Prepare and present regular reports on student engagement encompassing all aspects of the
FCSA's and College work to the FCSA Manager, FCSA Oversight Group, Fife College Board of
Governors and other key stakeholders.

These include, but are not limited to, weekly reports focussing on specific themes, statistical analysis on engagement projects, and evaluations of the current approaches used by the FCSA.


Lead on the creation and implementation of an FCSA Student Engagement Strategy, in partnership with internal and external stakeholders and relevant external bodies.


Establish and lead internal networks between the FCSA and Faculty management to ensure both parties are well informed and working cohesively to the benefit of the students.


Ensure that the FCSA are engaging with the student body to co-design activities and events are well-researched and well-informed by student opinion, needs, and wants.

Act as a mentor and offer support to the FCSA President of Education and Representation.

Lead on the FCSA's work on and response to national campaigns, and reports to Education
Scotland, SPARQS, and SFC.


Increase the opportunities for student engagement and interactions through the delivery of regular activities, awareness raising events and student focussed extra-curricular academic groups.


Create and deliver the FCSA's Calendar of Engagement, working with the College to help increase the Student Voice across the full year.

Improve the year-on-year numbers of students taking part in engagement and representation activities.

Ensure that the needs of all students are well-represented and promoted at all relevant FCSA events.

Create relevant award submissions and highlights best practice with internal and external stakeholders.

Lead on the annual refresh of the FCSA and Fife College Student Health Agreement.

Lead on the Fife College and FCSA Student Partnership Agreement priorities on Digital
'Networked for Fife'.


Establish strong relationships with the College's Quality team and other relevant staff to ensure a joint approach to shared priority events.


Engage with external forums and awards schemes to ensure the FCSA and Fife College are a valued partner in the student engagement and representation at local and national levels.

Liaise with SPARQS, Colleges Scotland, and other external stakeholders to strengthen the work of the FCSA.

Work with the FCSA Community Development Coordinator to establish a strong programme of academic societies.

Arrange, facilitate and provide necessary administrative support to Fife College and FCSA
Sports teams and Individuals to host and attend local and national competitions.


Provide face-to-face support to students who visit our offices, recording and communicating feedback to ensure the effective delivery of necessary actions.

Represent the FCSA at College and external events.

Source and secure funding opportunities and sponsorships to help develop the FCSA's engagement work.

Recruit a diverse and effective cohort of representatives to ensure all communities within the
FCSA membership are represented and encouraged to engage with all aspects of FCSA and
Fife College work.
