Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and hard-working Administrator Team Lead to work within the Paediatric Dermatology, Genetics, Womens and Cutaneous infection Service.

The service runs Mon-Fri, 09:00-17:00, taking direct referrals from GPs, hospitals, schools, social workers and other healthcare professionals.

This is a full-time post working 37.5 hours Monday to Friday. The Team Lead is responsible for supporting three members of staff in the admin office.


The St John's Institute of Dermatology provides a wide range of multidisciplinary specialist clinics as well as general dermatology services.

Formerly a post graduate teaching hospital it is now fully integrated into the Guy's and St Thomas' Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and the Guy's and St Thomas' School of Medicine (GKT) of King's College London (KCL).

St.

John's Institute of Dermatology contributes to GKT research activities as part of the Division of Genetics and Molecular Medicine, GKT Medical School, King's College London and provides an annual MSc postgraduate course.

Cutaneous medicine is also one of seven designated themes which form a core component of the Biomedical Research Centre at GSTT and KCL.


The post holder's duties are as follows:

  • Support Assistant Service Manager in the running of five specialties Paediatric Dermatology, Women's Dermatology, EB. Genetics and Cutaneous Infection accross sites. This includes accepting tertiary referrals and ensuring patients pathway starts correctly within services.
  • Main Secretary to Dr Fiona Lewis in supporting clinic capacity and booking appointments
  • Vascular Anomalies Clinic coordinator including preparing for monthly MDTs and bi-monthly clinics
  • Cover telephones from main switchboard ensuring patients are supported and highlight to Team Leads/Call Centre of incorrect numbers or delays
  • Typing of clinic letters
  • Initiate training for new staff
  • Collect internal post as part of rota and clear clinicans pigeon holes
  • General administration duties, for example cover reception if needed for example sickness.
