We are looking for a Working Cell Lead with the main purpose of this role being to support the team in ensuring that the targeted output is achieved in a safe manner and at the required quality and cost.


Key Responsibilities will include:

  • In cooperation with the Team Leader ensure that each individual has had the necessary training to carry out their assigned duties in a safe and effective manner.
  • Organising, coordinating and supporting as appropriate staff under supervision.
  • Setting high personal standards for motivating staff under supervision.
  • Communication of safety information raised or highlighted daily.
  • To ensure all controlled documentation is accurately and consistently completed.
  • Communication of production targets to staff under supervision and maintaining production standards.
  • Visible leadership/commitment to the Norbord Safety Star and Expectations Programme.
  • Ensuring all activities within area of responsibility are completed in full compliance with all statutory regulations and site HS&E standards, policies and procedures.
  • Accident and near miss reporting.
  • Involvement and participation in team briefings/crew talks.
  • Actively participate in the department plant maintenance programme.
  • Setting and maintaining high standards of housekeeping.

Person Specification:


  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain a consistently high level of performance.
  • Ability to Investigate, understand and resolve issues quickly and efficiently.
  • Good IT skills including Excel, Word and ideally a knowledge of stock management software.
  • Approachable, knowledgeable and patient
  • Good organisational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to review and edit controlled documents.
  • Technical expertise, including reading drawings.
