About the role

- "We are looking for a motivated person to work within a professional security team overseeing the vetting and access control responsibilities for Hinkley Point A Site and to provide support to the Site Security Manager when required._


Key Deliverables

  • Oversee and maintain site access control procedures in accordance with the Site Security Plan (SSP) and Site Security Instructions (SAI's).
  • Continuously improve performance of own department by identifying deficiencies against internal and external standards and progressing an action plan to remediate.
  • Ensure that functional databases and access control systems are accurately updated in a timely manner.
  • Develop and maintain effective filing and retrieval systems.
  • Provide KPI information on security aspects.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations (including Nuclear Industries Security Regulations 2003 and SyAps), involving liaising with ONR CNSS.
  • Participation in regulatory inspections, company audits and assessments and site compliance checks.
  • Provide support to the Site Security Manager by assisting them in the performance of their duties. This may include deputising in their absence.
  • Support the effective deployment of companywide policies, processes, systems and procedures ensuring that at all times the site remains compliant.
  • Support colleague's learning and development through knowledge sharing, task instruction etc.
  • The post holder will be required to hold or obtain security vetting clearance at 'SC' level.

Training


The post holder will be required to complete training as defined in Common Training Profiles, supplemented by Site Specific Training Profiles when required.


Authorisations


The post holder may be required to achieve various authorisations in order to carry out the full scope of the role.

The requirements for specific authorisations are specified in Common Authorisation Instructions.


Qualifications & Experience

  • Educated to NQF level 3/NVQ Level 3, or equivalent standard, or equivalent demonstrable administration experience (essential).
  • Able to work under pressure and prioritise work as required (desirable).
  • Professional meticulous approach, with a keen eye for detail (desirable).
  • Educated to or above NVQ level 5 (desirable).
  • Working knowledge of databases/IT office systems (desirable).
  • Experience in delivering training or briefings (desirable).

Please be aware this role holder requires security clearance, or the ability to obtain said clearance.

There is a requirement to live within a commutable distance to the sites where the role is based. For central/multi-site roles, we have various hubs across the UK and can be flexible with base location.
