SP Energy Networks (SPEN) has kicked off an ambitious security transformation programme to transparently reduce risk, achieve compliance with NIS regulations and deliver a cyber resilient business, with the Head of Cyber Security Delivery being essential in achieving our goals.

This position is a part of an ambitious global cyber security function that delivers cyber resilient OT and IT to enable a safe and reliable electricity supply to customers.

Within SPEN, the Head of Cyber Security Delivery is a leading strategic role providing direction on various financial and commercial matters incorporating responsibility for Finance, Programme Management Office and Programme delivery functions, whilst also maintain full responsibility for all SPEN Cyber Regulatory obligations.


Aligning to the Iberdrola Group global Cyber Security Strategy, the Head of Cyber Security Delivery is at the forefront of the team that defines, develops, and maintains standards for the SPENs Cyber Programme.

The role will setup and lead the Cyber Programme office, which will be the source of documentation, governance, guidance, monitoring, and metrics on the progress of the Cyber Resilience programme and execution, servicing project teams involved in delivering initiatives at all levels.


The postholder will also oversee the delivery of all SPEN's Regulatory Cyber obligations including RIIO-2 re-openers, PCD, RRP and annual NIS Improvement Plan updates.

They will lead a team of up to 15 colleagues, plus external contractors.


What you'll be doing

  • Setting strategic goals and priorities for the Cyber Security Delivery team, with clear KPI's against track, manage and measure overall performance and communicate progress where appropriate.
  • Ensuring people development, learning and capability development is structured into an overall Security Architecture People Plan.
  • Leading and managing the ongoing investment cycle through consolidating and prioritising proposals and aligning technology with business outcomes and efficiency.
  • Establish and effectively leading all planning cycles including business plan, annual budgeting, budget revisioning and operational plans.
  • Collaborating with senior stakeholders across the Iberdrola Group to manager and coordinate the implementation of new tools and processes for financial management and programme and project delivery.
  • Engaging, influencing, and challenging the project workstreams and workstream leads to ensure that the milestone plan is robust, efficient and prioritised; ensure that delivery risks or risks to the critical path are clearly identified and communicated, and lead the identification and implantation of responsive actions.
  • Support the quarterly planning cycle to develop detailed project and resource plans for inflight projects and new initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain a robust Cyber training and awareness programme, covering Cyber Security training needs for all SPEN collectives, tailoring specific training where needed.
  • Develop project milestone plans and implement a strong governance model including project plan forecasting / output reporting, costs reporting, KPIs; metrics; risk registers; process and document control.
  • Provide PMO support to P&T Director level as required.
  • Lead the preparation and coordination of programme management and governance documentation and other materials for senior management, SP Energy Networks Governance meetings, SPEN executive team, Iberdrola stakeholders and internal/external stakeholders as required.
  • Develop and maintain a robust Cyber training and awareness programme, covering Cyber Security training needs for all SPEN collectives, tailoring specific training where needed.
  • Lead on the integration, delivery, and support of all required assurance processes, including Legal, Regulatory and Internal Audit. Identify and mitigate potential risks or issues in the execution or recording of project and Regulatory submission assurance.

What you'll bring

You will have extensive experience of operating in a senior management role with strong local and global stakeholder engagement skills.

You must have highly developed communication and collaboration skills, and a strong ability to efficiently and effectively prioritise and influence.


You will have demonstratable experience of being at the forefront of technical, financial, programme and project management as team management including coaching and mentoring.
