About the role


We've an amazing opportunity to join us as our Privacy Expert/Data Protection Expert/Information Access Coordinator, reporting to the Information Access Team Leader and Data Protection Officer, this role is responsible for coordinating Data Protection (DP) and Environmental Information Regulation (EIR) compliance across our organisation and ensuring everyone in the business is aware of their responsibilities.

You'll be responsible for monitoring compliance with data protection legislation alongside the policies of NWL. You'll undertake Privacy Impact Assessments and complete breach reports where necessary to ensure compliance with NWL's data protection obligations.

Experience in training employees from various business areas is necessary as this will be a key element of this role.


In addition, you will maintain appropriate records relating to UK-GDPR, DPA and EIR whilst reporting this to the Information Access Team Leader and Data Protection Officer.


About you
In addition, you'll understand Freedom of Information Act 2000 and the Water Industry Act 1991.

You will also have the ability to adopt a strategic approach to data protection and EIR within the business and in the wider water industry.

You'll have the ability to interpret and analyse complex Data Protection and EIR issues through your strong communication skills. You'll have strong stakeholder management experience coupled with excellent prioritisation skills to achieve deadlines.
