Right to Buy Project Officer
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Right to Buy Project Officer based in Slough.


Pay:
£350 per day umbrella


Start:
ASAP, duration will be 11 months on-going assignment


We are looking for someone to be responsible for delivering a time-limited intensive recovery plan for the council's Right to Buy service and to support neighbourhood officers in the management of leasehold home ownership and freehold occupancy issues.

You will be expected to ensure the council delivers a statutorily compliant right to buy process for tenants and assist with the full transition and embedding of the service into the directorate.

You will also be responsible for ensuring that only legitimate right to buy purchases proceed to completion and to maximise service charge income through accurate costs projections and RTB/leasehold aftercare.

The main duties of the role are as follows:

  • To assist and contribute to ongoing reviews to ensure accurate, up-to-date policies and procedures are in place and to support the efficient delivery of the Right to Buy process. This includes reviewing and proposing improvements/amendments as necessary in consultation with Neighbourhood Manager and other senior officers.
  • Respond to complaints, queries, and questions about Right to Buy process from tenants, ward councillors and MP within corporate timescales.
  • Provide professional support to the Project Manager (Neighbourhood Recharges) as necessary and appropriate.

Requirements:


  • Extensive Right to Buy experience with a local authority or housing association
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of social housing tenancies, right to buy and home ownership tenures
  • An indepth knowledge of Right to Buy legislation, guidance, and codes of practice
  • Demonstrates an understanding of financial systems and resource management
  • Knowledge of working with Capita Housing Management System (or similar)
