Scope of the role

Green Element is looking for a senior consultant to join our growing Environmental and
Sustainability Management team. As part of the role, you will become a key player in our team,
helping clients become more sustainable through a variety of service offerings. The primary
focus would be on developing strong client relationships, building sustainability and net-zero
strategy, drafting TCFD and sustainability report disclosures, carrying out detailed landscape
reviews and analysing the results, conducting stakeholder interviews, delivering materiality
assessments, compiling KPIs and building options for corporate strategic direction. You will be
required to work with businesses in Europe and the US, using your understanding of climate and
sustainability development and leveraging your contacts to build a client base.

The role is varied, from workstreams more specifically focused on data, carbon footprints,
materiality assessments, KPI development and writing legally required disclosures such as TCFD,
to streams more focussed on engagement, such as assessing client needs, carrying out interviews
and delivering training sessions. Sales will also be a key part of the role, including helping
identify potential clients for Green Element services. As part of your strategy work you will
collaborate with the analysis team to set Science Based Targets or conduct Life Cycle Analyses.

The position will support the development of Green Element's services to clients and the
while being offered formal training through our online courses and from other third-party
sources. Please note that you will be required to attend the Edinburgh office at least 3 days
per week.

engagement.

Key responsibilities


Support project management of client solutions:
Research and write TCFD disclosures and data-driven sustainability reports.
Use your skills and contacts to develop potential client relationships in both the US and
Europe.
Collaborate with and provide robust challenge to senior client teams in developing enhanced
sustainability strategies.
Present to client C-suites, Boards and ESG Subcommittees as required.
Engage with clients, their suppliers and other key stakeholders such as investors to gather
data and insights.
Conduct coaching calls with clients with support from other Sustainability and Environmental
Management consultants.
Co-chair client lunch and learn sessions, client/consultant meetings and workshops on client
sites.
Meet clients in person as needed.
Support the CEO and other Senior Consultants as needed.

Essential skills, experience & qualifications


Skills:

Ability to work on projects covering TCFD, Science Based Targets, GRI, ISSB, evolving EU
disclosure regulations, evolving US legislation for the environmental and sustainability
sectors.
Relevant contact network in the United States.
Experience working with corporate senior leadership.
Proven skills in business development, including evidence of meeting financial or sales
targets.
Sustainability strategy development, materiality assessments, KPI and priority setting,
management systems.
Familiarity with sustainability reporting standards and Science Based Targets.
Data gathering, target setting, and basic analysis.
MS Excel for analysis and reporting.
Aptitude to grasp new concepts and effectively produce results.
