Role Overview:


  • The objective of the Company is to make a profit by acquiring land and planning, designing, constructing and selling dwellings thereon, all in accordance with the operating policies and controls of the Company.
  • To assist in the management of all External Consultants to the Technical Team in the production of drawings for the design and construction of site developments, based on an internal brief from the management Team, to be negotiated with and submitted to the appropriate Authorities for speedy and satisfactory approvals in order to unlock and maximise development potential, and provide an architectural drawing and technical information service and support, to obtain, check and distribute information to other inhouse teams and to assist construction.
  • The role of the Technical Department in an Operating company is to provide a practical overview and value engineered cost effective technical service to the company.
  • This will encompass site evaluation, architectural and engineering design, the investigations of any technical problems encountered and provision of economical and viable solutions. This may involve liaison with, appointment of and coordination of external professionals.
  • Technical Coordinator will be given specific projects to run, at Planning Approved Stage. They will then ensure that working drawings and associated information enables suitable procurement and a site to commence and coordinate/check and issue externally supplied information.

EH&S

  • Individuals must act to minimise danger and report all potential dangers and accidents to their immediate superior or designated Health & Safety Officer.

Sustainability

  • Ensure the planning and design requirements of any sustainability requirements are being met in compliance with the current legislation
  • Assist the business in adequately achieving accurate and timely sustainability data and records as they are required for the project
  • Actively seek new construction methods and/or new products that will better the business sustainability philosophy.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Agree Project objectives and define the scope of works in collaboration with the STM and/or Planning, Design & Technical Director.
  • Review design drawings and documentation for compliance with the design brief(s) and budget and general build ability
  • Coordinate the production of layouts and working drawings. Assist in the production of Technical reports for Land Appraisals, with supervision.
  • Provide technical support and information to Construction, Commercial and Sales departments and maintain good communication to ensure the required level of service is maintained.
  • Assist the Senior Technical Manager / Planning, Design & Technical Director in fee negotiation and the appointment of consultants.
  • Coordinate the submission of Planning & Building Regulation Applications and obtain planning permissions and other statutory approvals e.g. S104 and S38 Agreements/ satisfy any imposed conditions.
  • Prepare and/or Coordinate Sales and Legal information e.g. Conveyance plans, sales area layout drawings.
  • POS, S38, S104 adoptions.
  • Assist the in the production of Pre-Tender Health & Safety Plans.
  • Comply with responsibilities as laid down in the Group's Health, Safety & Environment Policy.
  • At all times comply with company policies, procedures and instructions.
  • Implement new ideas and methods and continue to seek ways of both improving contribution to the organisation's goals and enhancing the reputation of the company.
  • Obtain, check and coordinate information from external architectural consultants, and suppliers and manufacturers for supplementing working drawings.
  • As required, from time to time, produce designs for layouts, house designs etc.
  • Miscellaneous approvals such as foot path closures, sales signage etc.
Excellent salary on offer.
