We have an exciting opportunity for a Production Planning & Shipping Officer at our site in Muir of Ord.


Your Opportunity:

Ensure that day-to-day planning activities support the effective operation of the Site.

Support the production planning processes as directed by Line Manager.

Work with Global Procurement to ensure raw material supply

Act as main contact person between site Shipping function and External Freight Agents and Forwarders.


Ensure all shipments are accompanied by correct documentation and paperwork to avoid delays and ensure compliance with all necessary Customs requirements.

Obtain quotations for shipping costs to support Sales and Customer Services functions.

Manage daily, weekly & monthly reporting to the Supply Chain, Production & Warehouse Departments and support stock reconciliation.


Assist with the planning of production and consumables demand based on sales forecasts and input from S&OP calls a weekly, monthly and annual basis.

Issue the respective work orders in SAP and update S&OP planning files.

Manage ordering of incoming production consumables i.e. Precursor, Feedstock, chemicals, packaging and others, to ensure safe stock levels are maintained.


Implement visibility of customer orders to ensure Sales awareness of job status and integrate product shipping into the overall production plan.

Obtain all necessary paperwork and documentation as required for Customs purposes and ensure this is presented to the freight agent on a timely basis

Assist in maintaining accurate records of all shipments

Assist in maintaining records of incoming deliveries and book into system (GRN)

Provide administration support to Planning and Logistics team as required

Support with month end reporting KPI's (eg. On-Time Delivery, Shipping Cost, etc)

Assist in stock counts to ensure accuracy of stock information, incl. year-end stock take as required.

Ensure all activities comply with Quality and Health & Safety requirements to maintain effective and safe working practices.


Role is split between two functions: Production Planning and Shipping.


Your Profile:

Position requires adaptability. Individual must be flexible to serve in multiple roles.

Position requires a good eye for detail when ensuring Customs paperwork is present and correct

Position will be first point of contact for internal customers and external freight companies, strong communication skills (both written and oral) are a prerequisite

Ability to work in a small team and effectively prioritise tasks
