Maintenance Operative
Maintenance Operative required for temporary role in Glasgow assisting in student accommodation.

Role include

  • Undertake maintenance within the residences in a safe working environment, assessing all Health and Safety issues before work commences and report any hazards identified to the relevant Manager
  • Carry out reactive maintenance in accordance with the Service Level Agreement and provide front line response for all fabric work
  • Carry out PPM in accordance with the schedule & liaise with specialist subcontractors
  • Maintain accurate records of breakdowns and maintenance repairs, including records for statutory compliance
  • Carry out statutory testing including PAT testing, fire alarm testing, fire door testing and others, as required
  • Report any Health and Safety issues relating to the residences ensuring all information is passed to the relevant persons
  • Take the lead in building fabric stock management (ordering, storage, distribution) ensuring appropriate parts are held and available to meet SLA timescales for repair
  • Assist team colleagues in other trades as and when required and assist with
- team development including cross-trade skills sharing


Previous experience of Property maintenance within a similar environment, or experienced and qualified in a trade with the ability to work across a number of trade disciplines to a reasonable standard.

Knowledge of safe working methods, including COSHH, Manual Handling, working at height etc.

Awareness of Health and Safety issues and legal requirements.

Excellent customer care skills with the ability to report outstanding actions and to keep individuals informed of progress.

Excellent organisation, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Experience of prioritising workload to meet competing deadlines without close supervision.

To be proactive in approach, with the ability to use initiative and resolve issues or problems quickly and effectively.

Ability to work in a team and have a flexible approach to work.


Salary:
£16.00-£18.00 per hour


Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday

  • Glasgow: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
