The Role


We're looking for a Group Data Protection Officer who can help us to create, deliver, and embed the group's data protection and privacy strategy as we continue to expand, including as the group grows through M&A.

You'll be joining Twinkl's legal & governance team, working with stakeholders across the business to ensure that our approach meets privacy and data protection requirements internationally.


What You'll Be Doing;

Compliance Management

  • Develop and manage a robust data protection compliance programme
  • Monitor and assess data protection risks across the group

Policy Oversight

  • Draft and update data protection policies, ensuring alignment with relevant (international) legislation
  • Educate and promote a culture of compliance through training and monitoring

Data Subject Rights

  • Lead response to data breaches and data protection incidents, logging and monitoring in accordance with applicable legislation

Privacy by Design

  • Collaborate with product teams to embed privacy principles into fastpaced projects
  • Undertake and advise on DPIAs for new and existing projects

Training and Awareness

  • Conduct training to raise data protection awareness among new and existing employees
  • Maintain an uptodate knowledge of relevant data protection regulations and best practices

M&A & Auditing

  • Conduct data protection audits for Mergers & Acquisitions and investment targets
  • Ensure integration of data protection practices & standardisation of policies postacquisition/investment

Requirements:


Qualifications and Experience;

  • Proven experience as a Data Protection Officer (essential)
  • Indepth knowledge of GDPR, PECR, and UK/EU data protection laws (essential)
  • Degree in a relevant field (e.g. Law, Data Protection, Information Security) (desirable)
  • Relevant certifications/qualifications (e.g. CIPP/E, CIPM) (desirable)
  • Strong understanding of data protection and privacy challenges within fastgrowth businesses and the education sector
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • An ability to work independently, devise strategy, and systematically audit existing systems and processes
