Day Rate - £330- £350 per day PAYE

CAD Technician
Fusion people are currently recruiting for a CAD Technician on an 8 week week project.

Description below.


The required CAD Technician will be reporting to the CAD Team Leader and their main deliverables will include:

  • Working within a team, the fundamental requirement of this role is to produce CAD design deliverables, including 3D models, technical drawings and sketches for projects across various sectors within the civil and structural department
  • Prepare preliminary and detailed designs in 2D/3D for mechanical, civil and structural, temporary and permanent works as requested by Senior / Principal or Lead Engineers and Designers
  • Ability to use a variety of software is preferable, including but not limited to AutoCAD, Civils3D, E3D and Bentley AECOsim/Openbuilding Designer
  • Work within a Common Data Environment (typically ProjectWise)
  • Ensure that draughting activities are executed within budget and schedule, while maintaining technical integrity
  • Ensure that work is carried out with relevant codes, standards and procedures
  • Maintain and develop awareness of current relevant codes and standards
  • Implement company, and where applicable client/ project policies and procedures
  • Effectively communicate with other disciplines to ensure that interfaces are clearly defined and correctly designed
  • Liaise with other departments, project personnel, vendors, clients etc

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience in one or more civil and structural sectors (Water, Rail, Energy and Highways) highly desirable
  • Qualified to City & Guilds or HNC/HND level and/or Educated to degree level
  • Working towards or completion of EngTech or IEng ICE professional qualification an advantage
  • Must be competent in design & detailing of piping systems, process structures, foundations, below ground infrastructure, including drainage, cable ducting, etc. steel and concrete
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work within a team environment
