Skilled Operative

The Role:

To carry out tasks set by site supervisors and gangers to a high and safe standard

Key Responsibilities:

Operate and carry out job set tasks

Ensure have been briefed and understand all relevant risk and method statements
Use best/safe practice on all tasks carried out
Checks on any equipment that may use
Ensure a safe tidy place of work

Ensure the completion of works is on time

Implement best practice procedures
Maximise use of own working time
Ensure signed up for all permits and briefings before commencing any work

Communication with site management

Communicate with site supervisor on any concerns
Feedback to site management with near miss reporting
Ensure to attend all site briefings, forums, and toolbox talks
Deputise for conducting briefings and toolbox talks

Key measures & targets:

Safely carry out tasks set by the site management team or ganger if in gang

Key relationships:

Foreman/ General Foreman, Site Manager, site operatives, Operations manager

Person Specification:

Essential

A good experience in relevant site work
Experience in general civil works (earthworks, drainage, ducting, kerbing, and concreting)
CSCS card
CPCS forward tipping dumper
CPCS Slinger Signaller
Good team worker
