As a Value Stream Agile PMO Lead in the Agile Portfolio Management Office, you will foster decentralised program execution in one or more value streams to enable delivery against planned outcomes.

Reporting to the Head of Agile PMO, you will make Tesco Bank a more efficient, agile, and sustainable organisation by providing successful execution patterns, standard program measures and reporting in a way that enables your value stream stakeholders to create a fast flow of value with quality.


The Role

  • Reviewing the backlog of work for a medium sized project and reprioritize the work and the deployment of project resources to reduce costs and increase the value of the work delivered to the business
  • Leading scrum ceremonies, remove obstacles and facilitate problemsolving, collaboration and conflict resolution to enable the most effective work delivery by development teams on large projects or programs
  • Project Risk and Issue Management managing identification of risks, issues, dependencies, and constraints associated with the project, escalating these where appropriate. Where necessary, develop, agree on, and implement solutions to overcome these
  • Project Reporting and Review managing the project review process; provide stakeholders with accurate and relevant information and key recommendations at agreed review points to enable them to evaluate progress and agree on change
  • Continuous Improvement reviewing existing operations in a major area of work and implement innovation processes to generate new ideas and ensure the required continuous improvement outcomes are delivered
  • Promoting an agile atmosphere within teams and groups by emphasizing nimble action in service of constant customer focus
  • Leading and facilitating exchange of ideas and task collaboration in fluid midsized project teams
  • Negotiating and managing deployment of project resource budgets, providing forecasts and presenting variances with narrative at appropriate review points to ensure effective utilization

You'll have experience in:


  • Prioritizing works at an advanced level to prioritize components of a project, program, or portfolio work in context with risks, activities, stakeholders, etc. across the life of the project or program
  • Project Risk and Issue Management
  • Project Management uses comprehensive knowledge and skills to work independently while guiding and training others on managing projects and/or programs within desired cost, time and quality parameters
  • Workflow Management
  • Project Meetings and Ceremonies works at an advanced level to lead program related meetings, keeping focus on agenda, issues, workflow, and associated agile ceremony requirements: Meeting Planning, Sprint Demonstrations, Sprint Planning, Sprint Retrospectives
