Global Process Expert - AstraZeneca


As Global Process Expert you'll collaborate with Leaders across Supply Sites and Global Supply Chain to agree priorities aligned with the Global Supply Network Planning strategy.

In addition to driving Planning Excellence, you will also facilitate improvement delivery working across a portfolio covering initiatives on Master Data, Planning and Supply Chain processes, Analytics and key enabling Supply Chain Systems.

You will be a key driver in process standardization and uplifting process capability across the Supply Chain network, enabling and improving Global Supply Planning processes.


You will be aligned to a specific region in order to build / maintain a strong relationship with the site planning teams as well as the regional leadership team.

You will act as the representative of Network Planning in the region, while at the same time ensuring that the voice of the region is heard and that global planning initiatives take the region's interest into consideration.

Typical accountabilities

  • The key accountability includes shaping and leading process ownership for Network Planning
  • The role may also include championing initiatives within Supply Chain Excellence that impacts the Functions, including Master Data and IT system improvements
  • Build a strong rapport with the regional Supply Chain functions and their leadership team
  • Support the Network Planning community (in GSNP as well on site) to ensure the training and coaching needs of the planning community are fully met
  • Ensure there is a credible group of super users / process SMEs is in place
  • Drive planning capability uplift in local planning teams and Global Supply Network Planning
  • Ensure Network Planning and Supply Regions play a full and active role in the continuous improvement of the Supply Planning Process both as an individual contributor and in coordinating contributions across the network
  • Coach and support the super user community
  • Support and champion the functional implementation of key improvement initiatives and change activity
  • Provide a strong supply planning voice in the Global Supply Network Planning Governance forums to influence and shape ongoing approach and priorities
  • Facilitate preparation and follow up of Network Planning Supply Chain maturity assessments
  • Facilitate sustainable design and deployment of key Planning KPIs and enabling Information Systems.
  • Collaborate with Global Analytics team to support operating model driving value to the business
  • Enable sustainable approach to Planning Master Data Quality within Network Planning
  • Works with site line management to ensure appropriate resourcing (including capabilities & succession planning) is in place for Local Super Users
  • Ensures adherence to process governance/harmonization and standardization of Supply Planning processes
  • Champions the use of global standard reports/templates and analytic systems/dashboards.

Preferred Skills and Capabilities

  • Experience in supply planning, with knowledge of, the pharmaceutical industry including experience in at least two of the following areas: manufacturing management, supply chain management, logistics and distribution or purchasing, i.e. wider supply chain awareness is a benefit.
  • Educated to degree level in either Economics, Supply Chain or Information Systems
  • The drive and collaboration skills to work effectively across Ops and a team spread across multiple countries
  • Ability to operate independently and make sound business decision with limited information available.
  • Ability to manage culture differences sensitively, diverse teams and negotiate different interests
  • Customer orientation with proven experience in managing diverse customers
  • Theoretical & practical knowledge of project management
  • Change management experience and knowledge of the operating model would be beneficial
  • Strong interpersonal, communication (written and oral), organizational and relationship building skills
  • Demonstrated ability to influence others to achieve outcomes through teamwork and collaboration
  • Ability to set clear, actionable direction and focus for diverse teams
  • Technical experience with key Supply Chain enabling Systems, such as APO SNP

Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Essential

  • A degree or equivalent in Business, Logistics, Sciences or Engineering is preferred, equivalent experience will be taken into account.
  • Experience in supply planning, with knowledge of, the pharmaceutical industry including experience in at least two of the following areas: manufacturing management, supply chain management, logistics and distribution or purchasing, i.e. wider supply chain awarene
