The role

Due to our expanding EU business we have an opportunity for an experienced customs operator to join our International division, handling import & export clearances to and from Europe and Ireland.

They will also work with our network of partners across Europe to handle the complete process. The role will allow you to play a key role in the companies future growth. This will be a 100% office based role with full training and software support.

Responsibilities

Ø Managing all aspect of the customs process; handling UK imports and exports and producing customs documentation via our systems using CDS.

Ø Working with the existing European partners to handle clearances on the other side of the water.

Ø Control and manage relationships with all partners as well as recognising opportunities for growth and expansion.

Ø Assist both new and existing customers by providing advice on customs procedures and enabling them to move their goods hassle free.

Ø Account management of key customers.

Ø Working with the operations team to ensure a smooth process of the customs procedure.

Ø Identify sales opportunities to add to our ever growing customs business.

Ø Ensure all customs documentation is correctly filed and store in line with legal requirements.

Ø Working with management to stay on the front foot with changes in laws, regulations, and customs procedures to ensure the company is compliant.

Ø A comprehensive background of handling the UK to EU customs process and producing all relevant documentation.

Ø An in-depth understanding of the CDS system and requirements

Ø A solid knowledge of incoterms and understand Duty & VAT requirements.

Ø Knowledge of HMRC Tariff and Procedures codes.

Ø Knowledge of HMRC and Port Inventory Systems (CHIEF, Destin8, etc).

Ø Excellent communication & organisational skills.

Ø An astute attention to detail

Ø Ability to multi-task whilst still prioritising efficiently
