Job Opportunity - Senior Medical Workforce Adviser
A position has arisen for a Senior Medical Workforce Adviser within a highly regarded healthcare organisation situated within Hertfordshire. The position is temporary running for 3 months, with full time hours and hybrid working.

Rate:
£14.32 per hour plus holiday pay

Hours: 37.5 per week


Your duties will include:


  • Operating the medical establishment control including vacancy management, rotation management and liaison with the Finance Department for ledger accuracy
  • Acting as the designated Senior Medical Workforce Adviser for specific division/s, providing effective advice and support in a timely and proactive fashion
  • Dealing with general medical workforce enquiries from managers and members of staff in a professional manner; e.g. Queries regarding terms and conditions of employment, pay assessments, and medical workforce related policies (e.g., Family Leave, Retirementand Absence)
  • Assisting doctors in training in the use of the electronic exception reporting system
  • Undertaking the daytoday management of exception reporting. This will include assessment of the content of the reports, advising the doctor and Educational Supervisor of any rota points or contractual points, following up unactioned reports, processingof additional hours payments, ensuring provision of time off in lieu confirmations and ensuring accurate and up to date records are kept
  • Undertaking the daytoday Medical Workforce support function of ejob planning. This will include providing reports as required, monitoring the timely progress of job plans to sign off, ensuring the timely and appropriate release of job plans and respondingto conventional queries on job planning
  • Ensuring that appropriate protocols and processes are developed and maintained to ensure that all JP's are captured on the system, reviewed annually and stored for audit purposes
  • Line managing Medical Workforce Advisers including ensuring they are trained in relevant processes
  • Inform the Medical Workforce Deputy Manager of suggestions for improvements to systems and contribute towards process improvements
  • Knowledge of HR practices with experience of dealing with HR issues, ER and recruitment
  • Experience within a busy Medical Staffing / HR function
  • Experience of design, management and monitoring of medical rotas
  • Knowledge of equality and diversity issues and associated legislation
  • Advanced keyboard skills (Microsoft Office suite as a minimum)
  • Ability to interpret complex information and employment legislation and communicate the detail in a clear, concise, and accurate manner
  • Ability to use initiative to solve daytoday operational problems relating to medical staffing
  • Analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and flexibly in order to effectively prioritise own and team's workload
