About ACAA:

The Afghanistan and Central Asian Association (ACAA) is an award-winning charity with more than 23 years' experience of helping Afghan refugees resettle and integrate into British society.

ACAA is the main charity in London, and the only charity with a large unrivalled centre ideal for the delivery of its services, which are focused on supporting Afghans and Central Asians.

Project Summary:

To support 30 Afghan and other Muslim girls, aged 8-16, from refugee and recent migrant communities to develop their participation in Cricket.

The project will enable them to develop Cricket skills and knowledge, participate in games, and socialise in a female-only culturally appropriate ambience but within the wider open-access setting of public sports facilities and local parks.

This will give the girls confidence to participate, reassure their parents that their cultural practices are being respected and increase the visibility of girls' participation in sport among the wider community.

This project will enable Muslim refugee girls, 8-16 often excluded from mainstream sport, to play Cricket for their physical and psychological health.

It challenges public stereotypes and under-representation of Muslim girls in community sport. ACAA will create opportunities for local Muslim girls to play Cricket in public spaces in West London.

We are looking to recruit a Cricket Coach who can train girls once a week for two hours in West London.

Every Saturday time is flexible
Deliver fun, engaging and energetic Cricket sessions to young girls aged between 8 and 16 years
Engage with children in a friendly and culturally sensitive and respectful manner
