LSCB & LSAB Administrative Officer


Connect2Luton are excited to recruit a LSCB & LSAB Administrative Officer on behalf of Luton Borough Council within their Luton Safeguarding Children/Adult Boards department.


Main purpose of position:

To manage the efficient and confidential secretarial and administrative support

to the Strategic Safeguarding Manager, the Independent Chair of the Luton

Safeguarding Adult Board (LSAB);
To manage the administrative support to support the work of the LSAB &
LSCB in providing a professional response to multi-agency partners and in coordinating the work of the Board.


As aAdministrative Officer, youwill be responsible to

  • Manage the administrative elements of the business unit in providing a comprehensive and confidential secretarial and administrative support service to the Strategic Busines Manager.
  • To manage the maintenance of all records pertaining to the work of the Boards.
  • To monitor both Board budgets monthly and resolve any anomalies with the allocated Accountants. Raise and process invoices, petty cash and assist with the completion of financial returns. To request and obtain annual contributions from partners.
  • To monitor the implementation of projects or actions and progress/chase as required.
  • Prioritise and manage incoming administrative tasks to ensure effective and efficient use of time.
  • To work with the Strategic Business Manager
  • To manage administrative staffing aspects, (recruitment, support, supervision, learning and development) as well as managing administrative systems and processes.
  • To originate and draft correspondence including letters reports, policy documents, promotional materials.
  • To ensure the websites for each board are up to date.

Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrable experience of working in an administrative/coordinating role and servicing large and diverse meetings.
  • Able to communicate clearly, accurately and sensitively with a wide range of people at all levels.
  • Able to plan, organise and prioritise own workload and those of administrators within changing timescales and parameters to meet organisational priorities and deadlines.
  • Able to interpret and analyse data in order to produce well written reports, documents and minutes.
  • Able to use own initiative to make informed judgements with limited supervision and guidance, prioritising own workload.
  • Able to manage, direct, motivate and support the development of administrators and apprentices.
  • Recognised administration qualification to NVQ level 2/3 OR equivalent qualification OR equivalent experience.
  • Some knowledge of the statutory functions of either Luton Safeguarding Adult Board or Luton Safeguarding Children's Board.
  • Willing to be flexible to adjust working arrangements with notice to meet changing demands and priorities during work periods and to work outside of office hours on occasion.
