The Learning Disabilities Inpatient Assessment and Treatment Service comprises of two 8-bedded adult units catering for people aged 18+.

We also have a new 5-bedded Learning Disabilities Child & Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) unit for people aged All of our inpatient services cater for people with Learning Disabilities and the presence of a mental health diagnosis and/or behaviours which challenge.

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our multidisciplinary team.

The Healthcare Assistant role is to contribute their expertise in assessment of patients on the ward, support with personal care, daily living activities and input their observations to the wider MDT team to ensure that the best care possible is provided.

The role is paramount to ensure that the ward is run safely and effectively, and patients are supported through empowerment of choice, education and assessment.

As such, we are looking for caring, compassionate and committed individuals who are passionate about working with young people with learning disabilities and mental illnesses, and/or challenging behaviour.

Ideally, you would have experience of working with people with learning disabilities.

Based at The Kingwood Centre in North West London we are easily accessible from central London via London underground.


You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team supporting registered healthcare professionals in providing patient's clinical care, including monitoring, observing, and ensuring personal hygiene standards are maintained or participate to provide a range of therapeutic activities for our patients.

Band 3 Health Care Support Worker work closely with people who use our Services, their families, friends and carers and play an important contribution in how people experience our services.

Band 3 Health Care Support Workers are expected to be kind and responsive but professional and informative and contribute to the quality of the services we provide by:

- keeping the people who using our services as safe as possible by recognising the limits of the Health Care Assistant role and working closely with Registered Nurses
- contributing to the best possible clinical outcomes by using up-to-date skills and adhering to evidence based policies and procedures when implementing care plans
- ensuring the people using our services have a good experience by respecting, empowering and working in partnership with people when contributing to the implementation and evaluation of care plans.
