De Baliol Care Home in the heart of Newbiggin-by-the-Sea, Northumberland, is a 59-room, modern facility with ensuite facilities in every bedroom.

We provide residential and nursing care for the elderly with physical disabilities, assisting them to make life more comfortable. To accommodate this, there is lift access, assisted baths, wheel showers and wheelchair access throughout the home


DeBaliol Care Home, part of the reputable Bondcare family, is currently seeking an empathetic, dedicated, and reliable Care Assistant to join our close-knit team.

We are currently seeking a highly motivated Senior Care Assistant to join our team at DeBaliol Care Home.

As a Senior Care Assistant, you will play an integral role in providing quality care and support to our service users, ensuring their dignity and individuality is retained at all times.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, implement and supervise the provision of quality care in conjunction with service users
  • Support, train and supervise junior and new staff members
  • Contribute to writing care plans and risk assessments in line with company policies
  • Ensure full privacy and dignity is maintained for the dying and bereaved
  • Assist service users with all aspects of their care needs, including physical, emotional and spiritual support
  • Carry out regular checks on service users at intervals determined by senior staff members
  • Maintain good communication with all stakeholders, including staff, external professionals, service users and families
  • Maintain professional knowledge and competence by attending mandatory training days/courses

Required Skills, Knowledge and Qualifications:


  • Genuine interest in working with the relevant service user group
  • Experience/qualification in the safe handling of medicines
  • Care Planning
  • Satisfactory policy check and check against the ISA list
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Willingness to participate in vocational training programs

Desired Skills, Knowledge and Qualifications:

  • Previous experience of working with the relevant service user group
  • NVQ Level 3 in Care
  • Previous supervisory experience

COVID-19 considerations:
All staff are required to do both PCR tests and Lateral Flow Tests at regular intervals. All PPE is readily available
