My client is a multinational building materials manufacturer valued at over £3 billion and are going through exciting growth. They're looking for a SHEQ professional to join their team permanently in Leighton Buzzard.


Role overview:


In this role, you'll be a key part of the Plant Management team driving through agreed objectives and contributing to achieving Business Unit and Group objectives.


As the Safety, Health, Environmental & Quality (SHEQ) Coordinator you will be critical to the success of exciting new initiatives and projects.


You'll coordinate work systems to ensure the products of the company meet the highest quality standards and that the working conditions of the company are favorable and safe.


Key responsibilities:


  • Part of the plant management team and national team driving through agreed local and Group objectives with health, safety and environment as a key priority.
  • Ensuring information for the processing of complaints reporting system is achieved in a timely and accurate fashion.
  • Collection of weekly and monthly KPI information for month end reporting.
  • Maintaining complete and accurate Health & Safety, Environmental records to the Company standard.
  • Coordinate all plant and cross audits, risk assessments, essential meetings which are relevant to the position and responsibility.
  • Training and development of staff members, including toolbox talks.
  • Undertake to investigate and report serious incidents to the relevant functional heads.
  • Empowerment to intervene with any noncompliance.
  • Liaise with local authorities for investigation and inspections.
  • Keep local management teams up to date with local legislation.
  • Ensure a policy of continual improvement is applied to all three disciplines by engaging employees at all levels.
  • Ensure the understanding, implementation and compliance with relevant HSE standards.
  • Work with key stakeholders to ensure that manufacturing operations are compliant with ISO9001:20
  • Support Production Meetings
  • Conduct internal audits and tracking the corrective actions
  • Liaising with other functions and departments to ensure issues are understood, reported and rectified.

Experience Required

  • It is desirable that you'll have a NEBOSH level 2 certificate
  • Desirable experience and knowledge in BS EN ISO 14001 and 9001 and root analysis tools.


You'll have strong verbal and written communications skills and able to interact and influence with people at all levels and have a passion to operate a philosophy of continual improvement at the Plant across Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality.


You must be able to follow and maintain working standards, procedures and processes whilst able to use own initiative to provide key support to the management teams.

Salary:
£30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
