An exciting opportunity has arisen for a forward thinking and dynamic individual to join our team of play staff within Swansea Bay.

The role provides opportunity to develop distraction techniques in partnership with our Play Co-ordinator.


Childrens Services across Swansea Bay are developing their play services to extend across all areas of paediatrics including the opportunity to extend through to the neonatal intensive care unit and community centres.

Within Childrens Services there is an emphasise on continual professional development.


We are currently in the process of developing a new service module for emergency and unscheduled care which will provide the opportunity for you to develop your skills in the use of distraction techniques in this field of practice.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Working with children of all ages providing play therapy and distraction techniques. Supporting children and their families throughout their admission to hospital. providing age appropriate toys and activities. Ensuring 'what matters to me' is discussed and highlighted for the child. Supporting the clinical care team in providing distraction for children requiring investigations/procedures.
