£38,296 with the opportunity to progress to a maximum of £42,503 (pro rata for part-time)

This is a new post required to oversee and co-ordinate the Safety and Improvement Process (SIP).


You will be working with representatives from Health, Adult Disabilities Social Care, Hertfordshire Care Providers Association and providers of Adult Social care.

As such you will have a high level of exposure to senior managers within partner organisationsand will play a role in service transformations and improved outcomes for the citizens we serve.

The post sits within the Community Commissioning Adult Disability team and will report to the Deputy Head of service.

The post holder will

  • Ensure that the Safety and Improvement Process (SIP) is applied correctly as per policy and guidelines and delivered in line with organisational and whole system priorities.
  • Ensure the appropriate HCC, ICB (Health) provider and external commissioner stakeholders are fully engaged in provider Safety and Improvement Processes.
  • Ensure stakeholders provide required information within the context of Provider Safety and Improvement process and meetings.
  • Maintain Safety and Improvement process and quality records.
  • Coordinate the Safety and Improvement Process, ensuring meetings are scheduled and appropriately administrated and recorded.
  • Maintain oversight of quality and risk information and provide reports
This is a new role, as such you will have the opportunity to design your own systems and recording mechanisms to manage the SIP process end to end, track progress and maintain up to date quality and risk information and reports

You will be the point of contact to guide individuals/virtual teams to ensure delivery of SIP tasks.

You will be required to maintain an up to date and thorough knowledge and understanding of the work practices, systems, processes and procedures of the ACSProvider SIP for adults with disabilities.


You will maintain effective and positive links with health and social care senior managers and operational staff and other organisations in relation to Safety and Improvement, developing mechanisms to provide regular updates to senior managers.

They must have:

  • A good understanding of Council policies and services related to the role.
  • Excellent administration, organisational and record keeping skills.
  • Able to organise their own work, and/or plan ahead for others, taking account of priorities and the impact on other people.
  • Ability to communicate (verbally and in written format/ reports) and cause understanding at different levels across the organisation, multiple agencies and stakeholders.
  • Ability to guide and motivate staff and partners to achieve objectives using Project management, skills and experience
  • Understanding of the organisation's political environment and able to explain the formal political structures and decision making processes in the Council.
  • Able to seek out and examine a range of information to identify patterns, trends and options, to solve multifaceted and complex problems.


Experience in a similar role, such as strategic commissioning or operational delivery or integrated health and social care service delivery would be an advantage.

You will need to motivate stakeholders to meet deadlines and prioritise attendance.
