Five Education is interested in speaking to people that: have an SEN (Special Educational Needs) teaching background, have experience of any kind with SEN, are looking to work on a flexible basis and are available to work up to 5 days a week for the foreseeablefuture We are driven to work closely with individuals who inspire and motivate, able to use their skill sets with a small group of SEN students.


The School
This SEMH school works with the age groups 11-18 and is looking for multiple TAs.

For Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), the space provides reduced input,a range of sensory games and concentration activities to assist with emotional regulation and prevention.

Their SEND department is fully committed to advancing SEN and finding the right people to assist their progress.


The Role


We will be working with a charismatic, dynamic, proactive individual to help deliver the adapted curriculum and have a positive impact on the students.


Responsibilities and duties:


  • Supporting 1:1 in class
  • Assist in compartmentalising students' lessons into manageable and productive segments
  • Help the pupils to access the curriculum and possibly tailor the lesson of the activity to their level of ability
  • Make learning fun and enjoyable
  • Be a support to the pupils when they are struggling, and help them to calm down and remain focussed
  • Build a strong relationship with the pupils and teaching staff to ensure that the pupils are achieving their potential

Essential Criteria:


  • Enthusiastic about working with young people and SEN, previous experience is preferred but not necessary
  • 2years worth of references
  • A relevant DBS check
  • Able to work between the hours of 8:30 and 15:30 and a minimum of 2 days per week
  • Access to a bicycle, bus, or car

Five Education operates a PAYE payroll; this is the most transparent way to be paid with no hidden fees such as admin fees or employers' NI.

Five Education is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all of the staff we employ to share this commitment.

Successful applicants will be required to undergo checks including reference checks,and TRA checks and will need to have a DBS; there will also be a face-to-face interview.
