About the role
We're looking for a People Business Partner for our Essex & Water teams based in Chelmsford.

You'll be reporting into our Head of People Strategy & Experience, supported by the Senior People Business Partner to deliver a great People service.

You'll be part of both the local operational management team and the national People Business Partnering team.


You'll be a trusted advisor, contributing and guiding the development of the directorate's strategic and operational planning, managing the planning of people resources both in the immediate timeframe and longer-term.

We're looking for you to promote new thinking on talent to ensure opportunity is provided for under-represented groups and individuals, and innovation is used to grow and develop the directorate as appropriate.

We're looking for you to deliver continuous improvement, analysing and utilise people data to create meaningful insights and plans. You'll also understand and work with employee survey data, helping managers and leaders to use insight and address issues.


As part of the People Business Partnering Team, you'll be supporting wider People Business Partnering Projects along with building connections with key stakeholders including Trade Union and Employee elected representatives.


About you
We need someone comfortable asking questions and providing options, supporting and coaching managers - building strong relationships is key. Innovation is in our DNA and we love people that can tackle problems in new and different ways. You'll have the ability to communicate well, making things simple, clear and accessible.


You'll be curious and know that better never stops, staying close to current and emerging HR best-practice trends, especially in the Essex or Suffolk areas.

Being CIPD qualified would be great but we equally value your applied experience. You'll enjoy personally developing and we will give you lots of opportunities to gain great experience in this role.
