Our Breast Unit is one of the busiest units within the region. We provide comprehensive breast care services to a population of around 500,000. It is a modern and purpose-built screening unit.

We treat between 350 to 400 new breast cancers each year and perform up to 200 oncoplastic procedures and reconstructions.

We have excellent reviews on patient satisfaction and experience.

Our multi-disciplinary team comprises of seven Consultant Breast Surgeons, six Oncologists, three Radiologists and four breast care nurses. The Unit also has a dedicated breast research nurse.

The breast surgeons offer a full repertoire of diagnostic, excisional, oncoplastic and reconstructive procedures delivered on site (including therapeutic mammoplasty, partial breast reconstruction using pedicled flaps, abdominal advancement flap, acellular dermal matrices, dermal sling and latissimus dorsi flap).

We have a high immediate breast reconstruction rate of approximately 50%. Free flap breast reconstructions are referred to plastic surgeons at Addenbookes Hospital.

We also offer a full range of oncoplastic symmetrisation procedures such as reduction, augmentation, mastopexy, lipofilling, nipple reconstruction and tattoo; as well as complex revisional surgeries on site.
