Position Overview:
As a Land Surveyor with an emphasis on engineering, you will play a pivotal role in our railway construction projects, working directly with our engineering teams to ensure precise measurement and layout of land and structures.
You will utilize state-of-the-art surveying equipment and techniques to support the planning, design, and execution phases of our projects, contributing to their successful delivery on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct precise land surveys to establish property boundaries, topographic features, and elevations.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to provide survey data for design and construction purposes, including site grading, earthwork calculations, and railway track alignments.
- Perform construction staking and layout to guide equipment operators and ensure accurate placement of railway infrastructure elements.
- Utilize advanced surveying software and equipment, such as total stations and GPS, to collect and analyze survey data.
- Prepare detailed survey reports, drawings, and documentation to support project requirements and regulatory compliance.
- Monitor and maintain survey equipment to ensure optimal performance and accuracy.
- Adhere to health and safety protocols and industry standards while working onsite, including regular night shifts as required for railway construction projects.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Land Surveyor, preferably with a focus on railway construction projects.
- Proficiency in using surveying equipment and software, including total stations, GPS, and AutoCAD.
- Strong understanding of engineering principles and railway construction processes.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with project stakeholders.
- Attention to detail and problemsolving abilities to resolve complex surveying challenges.
- A valid UK driving license and willingness to travel to project sites, including regular night shifts for railway construction work.
