Description

We require a Farm Hand to assist with the various activities on a farm.

Your duties and key responsibilities include feeding and caring for livestock, maintaining, and repairing equipment, operating tractors, and other machinery, maintaining fences and buildings, and helping with the harvesting and planting of crops of hay.

Experience with tractors and maintaining machinery is essential.

You must be physically fit and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions and be able to follow instructions and work as part of a team.

• Giving food and water to the livestock
• Cleaning and disinfecting animal living areas, including hutches, cages, and pens.
• Planting and nurturing crops to help encourage growth.
• Operating and maintaining farm equipment, including vehicles and machinery
• Harvesting hay
• Repairing farm buildings, fences, and other property
• Branding, tagging or otherwise marking livestock for identification and grading purposes.
• Herding livestock into grazing pastures, or for weighing or onto trucks for transportation.

Farm Hand Role

The purpose of a farm hand is to assist in the daily operations of a farm, including the care and maintenance of livestock, the cultivation and harvesting of crops, and the general upkeep of the premises.

Farm hands help to ensure that the farm runs smoothly, safely, and efficiently.

They may also be required to perform administrative tasks such as record keeping, ordering supplies, and other duties as required by the farm owner.

A farm hand is a manual labourer who works on a farm and helps with the daily tasks. This may involve feeding animals, maintaining machinery, harvesting crops and general maintenance.
