Are you an experienced Librarian looking for an exciting new challenge in Bath? Buro Happold is looking for a Librarian with previous experience, to work within our Knowledge team. This role is a 6 Month FTC and comes with an attractive salary and benefits package.

The role would suit an a customer-focused, diligent and resourceful person with excellent communication and organisational skills. You will be responsible for the policy, planning, organisation, management and promotion of information services. As well as representing the department within the organisation and externally.

Your key duties

:


  • Lead and develop departmental planning and policy.
  • Promote the value of the department internally, so that senior managers are able to use the information service facilities to enhance their department's objectives. Newsletters, new books, regulations updates are posted on Magellan and copied to the appropriate discipline.
  • Establish and review library policies and procedures including legal compliance with copyright legislation and adhering to licensing constraints. Using appropriate institutes newsletters ensure we are adhering to current copyright legislation. Give copyright advice when needed.
  • Manage physical, traditional and electronic resources, so that the resources are used to best effect. Update the Library Management System. Check with appropriate staff that the subscriptions we have are fit for purpose and changed when required.
  • Manage our legal information of British Standards etc., this involves office audits and maintaining a standards archive.
  • Plan the information service budget and monitor budget spend, so that resources are used to best effect. Use company memberships to get the best price when purchasing for the library
  • Take responsibility for content management of the information services intranet.
  • Purchasing books, standards and journals for all company offices.
  • Organising library induction programmes for new users so that they become familiar with library resources in a short period of time.
  • Maintaining awareness of current developments in the construction industry and passing this on to relevant staff.
  • Taking responsibility for selection and maintenance of serials.
  • Overseeing paper archiving of projects
  • Maintaining projects on the archive server. Work closely with IT representatives and GCs from all offices to ensure we always have the required amount of space on the project drive by archiving at regular times.

Your skills and experience

:


  • Alevels, HND, degree or equivalent professional experience (five years minimum)
  • Librarian qualifications
  • Construction industry experience
