An EMEA Data Management Framework has recently been established which aims to implement enterprise level Data Management Policy, Procedures and Tooling within the region.

This role will be responsible for supporting key elements of this and serving thedata needs of the EMEA business.

Through doing this the EMEA business will automate reporting processes that are currently manual, prone to operational risk and not scalable in line with the region's growth plans.

A key part of this role will be liaising withlocal report and model owners and understanding and documenting the new data requirements they have and the data defects they experience.

Once documented, these data issues will be logged and progress towards resolution communicated locally.


Responsibilities:


  • Liaise with local data users to understand the data defects they encounter and accurately document the underlying cause of the problem.
  • Liaise with local data users to understand their business change requirements, document the data requirement aspect of this and work to ensure that data is sourced from approved platforms with suitable preventative data controls.
  • Establish and manage the process of logging EMEA data defects and new requirements onto the enterprise platform.
  • Understand the population of data defects and new requirements and how and when they will be remediated.
  • Help establish the new EMEA Data Council and Data Enablement Working Group feeding into it.
  • Prepare and present materials (e.g. data defect metrics and material new requirements / defects uncovered) at Data Council and Working Groups.
  • Work with local data users to enhance regional data proactive and reactive controls as necessary.
  • Liaising with Enterprise Data Management teams to secure support for regional requirements and confirming enterprise goals and timelines.
  • Liaising with Global COO colleagues to ensure equivalent data governance in the region.

Skills and Qualifications:


  • Extensive work experience within banking.
  • Experience working in Data Management teams & projects.
  • Sound knowledge of BCBS239 principles and industry adherence practices.
  • Experience of Data Quality controls and reporting.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and enthusiasm to translate technical data deliveries into plain English and gain buy in from business stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Familiarity in working within regional teams and global governance models.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgement to identify and resolve problems
  • Knowledge and understanding of risk management frameworks.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills
