This role:

The role will be based in Bridge House Worthing, though requests to work from Horsham or Bognor are also workable You will be expected to travel around the county and a car driver is essential.

Travel expenses away from base will be reimbursed This part time role of 15 hours would suit a Monday to Wednesday or Tuesday to Thursday working pattern though other patterns can be considered.

Availability on a Wednesday or Thursday is desirable West Sussex Youth Justice Service is a multi-disciplinary team which seeks to prevent offending and reoffending by children and young people aged The service works with children, young people, their families, victims of youth crime and the broader community across the county using restorative principles and a trauma lens to reduce risk and increase desistence.


The service was rated overall Good in a recent HMIP inspection with staffing rated outstanding; the Inspection report noting that Staff within the YJS are empowered to deliver a high-quality, personalised and responsive service for all children.

REQUIREMENTS In order to be a successful Mental Health Practitioner in our team you will be:

Registered with the NMC or HCPC via a core professional qualification Applications are welcomed from OTs, Nurses, Social Workers, Drama/Art Therapists, Psychologists Experienced in risk management Comfortable working in a fast-paced and varied role Experienced working within a mental health setting It would also be advantageous if you are: Experienced working in CAMHS (Children and Young Peoples mental health services) Flexibility with working patterns to include some meetings is essential as is own transport as the role involves travel across the whole Sussex County area.

SPFT staff have the capacity to work from home remotely for part of their hours where applicable and in agreement with your line manager.

MAIN DUTIES To contribute to the management of a team caseload of clients with complex needs, using CPA principles, evidence based/client centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions.
